Real Brides: Ashton
Nate and I went to church together when we were little. Our Paths then crossed about 7 years ago when we were set up on a blind date by my older brother and sister-in-law. At the time, I was leaving to go to Africa to do missions work, and Nate was going out to Colorado to guide Fly Fishing. Our paths separated until 2 years ago when we bumped into one another Christmas Shopping in Michigan - small world. Not long after that, Nate asked to call me and asked "so are we doing this or what". The rest is history. We bounce around States traveling / working, and I'm forever grateful this man has chosen me.
Oh my - the second I put it on I knew. When I was little I always envisioned having the biggest dress! Through the years, my taste has become much more simple. Before looking at dresses, I asked my fiancé "what do you picture me wearing? what do you like?", he stated "hmm - I like big!" I was a little nervous, because I wasn't sure if that was what I still envisioned, but after trying on 30+ gowns, the second I put this dress on, I fell in love. I knew it was the one. my first statement was "this looks like honey" (my fiancé). My husband is "Mr. Outdoorsman". He is a hunting and fishing guide. I instantly fell in love with the detailing in the gown - the beading reminded me of ivy / leaves, and reminded me entirely of him. From that moment on, everything else for our wedding tied around the dress. The venue was covered in ivy / vines, etc. The day was an absolute dream - all thanks to the dress. All thanks to Nate, choosing me. Note: the heart embroidered on the inside of the dress is a piece of my grandfather's dress shirt. He passed away a handful of years ago, so I wanted to make sure to keep him close on this special day.
