Real Brides: Aileen

Our story is quite unique. We actually met at a wedding. My best friend, which is my husband’s cousin got married last September in Arizona. I was one of her bridesmaids and had flown in from Washington State to be in her wedding. I actually had a date with me for the wedding, but that didn’t stop Jason from admiring me. Later that night he had asked the bride who I was and she was eager to introduce him to me. He asked about my date, and she told him, “he’s not her guy”, so of course we chatted but I was very worried about the guy I was with noticing some interest between the two of us. When I was leaving, he gave me the biggest hug and didn’t want to let go. I whispered in his ear “get my number from Kristen”. I caught a very early flight the next morning back to Seattle, and was sitting in the airplane to take off when I received a text from Kristen with Jason’s contact information. I of course sent him a text just to say that it was great meeting him. The plane took off and when I landed I had about 3 texts from him with excitement to hear from me. He knew I was flying out, just didn’t know when. Long story short, Jason flew me back out to Arizona a few weeks later for the most amazing weekend. I flew home and broke up with the guy I was seeing and Jason and I proceeded a long distance relationship. I flew back and forth a couple times a month. The company I worked for in Seattle had a remote office in Scottsdale and had a position open. I was offered it since they knew I was flying back and forth. Again, Jason and I started talking in September and was looking to move in December. He was more excited than I was, as I was nervous that it might be too soon since we had just really started dating. I accepted the job, and Jason flew in to move me cross country to be with him. The weekend we arrived in Arizona, he proposed and the rest is history.
