Real Brides: Alaina

Darrell and I met in the small town of Malvern, Arkansas through a mutual friend. We exchanged phone numbers and begin talking on the phone for just about the whole day. Our first date was at the Cotton Boll Cafe in Malvern. Darrell was a complete gentleman, he opened doors for me and was so sweet. Our second date was my favorite! Darrell prepared a romantic picnic in the den area of his home which, is also the place where he told me he loved me and I was the one. He even said he was going to marry me one day! Might I mentioned I did not believe him and thought he was just running his mouth! I guess you can say Darrell is a man of his word because three years later we said I Do! Choosing my dress was a task. I was totally focused on what I thought I wanted which was a mermaid gown. I would screenshot several gowns on Pinterest and Instagram. When I arrived at Formal Affairs Boutique in Russellville, Arkansas I pulled all the mermaid gowns that fit my criteria and one Moonlight A-line gown. I remember telling Reagan, my consultant for the day that I did not want poofy but I would love to try this A-line gown. Of course, I tried on all the mermaid gowns first but none of those dresses gave me that feeling I was looking for. The last gown I tried on was my Moonlight gown and I was overwhelmed with joy even before I could get the dress completely on! The feeling of joy overwhelmed me and in that moment my dress chose me and everything I thought I wanted was out the window. I bought my dress about 9 months prior to my wedding and can I tell you I still had that same overwhelming feeling as I put my dress on the day of my wedding.
