Real Brides: Ellen

My husband and I met during our sophomore year of high school. We shared mutual friends, but it wasn’t until we took a German class together that we really got to know each other. We started dating shortly thereafter—and the rest is history! We did four years of long distance during college. I knew he was going to be my husband when I was just 15 years old.

When shopping for my wedding dress, I was open to many different styles and cuts. The two main things I wanted in a dress were elegance and simplicity. I had tried on multiple gowns, but none of them felt perfect—there was a caveat with each one. When I tried on the gown I ended up choosing, I immediately knew it was “the one.” I felt naturally beautiful, and the dress only enhanced my features. It was the first and only dress that gave me an emotional reaction when I saw myself in it.
