Real Brides: Courtney
I met Brandon on Hinge! His profile photo was of him shredding food in a cooking class, and one of the prompts said, “You should go out with me if…” — his answer was, “if you wanna be in a silly goofy mood with me.” Lol. I immediately loved the vibe, and now here we are—married!
I actually saw the dress on Aisle Studio KC’s Instagram and was obsessed. I knew I wanted a basque waist dress for my wedding because I wanted to feel like a princess, lol. But even more than that, the basque waist reminded me of the Schuyler sisters from Hamilton—and that made it even more special.
I’m a huge musical theatre fan and I teach theatre at the middle school level. When my mom and I went shopping, we visited another store first and found a basque waist style that I really liked—but we were holding out to try one more gown at Aisle Studio.
When we arrived at Aisle Studio, Raegan worked with my mom and me. She had that dress ready for us, but we decided to save it for last since I wanted to keep an open mind and try on other styles first.
Raegan helped me try every single silhouette, and finally, at the very end, I put that one on. It was absolutely stunning—I loved it the moment I saw myself in it. And when I stepped out to show my mom, she immediately started crying. That’s when we knew: this was the dress I would marry my husband in.
