Real Brides: Kristin

When Ander (my husband), came into my life, it was completely unexpected. We met on Tinder. The first time we hugged, it felt as if I’d known him my whole life and finally found him. Things progressed quickly. Ander met my cousins the second time we hung out. He told me he loved after a night out. 3 weeks into knowing me, and we weren’t even officially together at the time. I truly didn’t believe the saying “when you know, you know” until I met Ander. Fast forward 8 months, and I needed to move across the country from Colorado to Iowa for work and family. Ander never hesitated to pack up his whole life and move with me. In order for us to afford my husband’s transition and for us to do IVF, we needed the insurance my job in Iowa could provide. After (almost) 10 months of dating, Ander proposed to me on the same day we closed on our house. We decided to elope a few months later near Blue River, CO.
The owner at Embody Bridal is a friend I’ve known my entire life. I knew if I was going to find a wedding dress that I love AND came in time for our wedding I’d need Erynn’s help. Embody Bridal is size and gender inclusive, and made finding the perfect dress for my elopement possible. I wanted to feel like a bride but  also work for our venue, a hike in front of Quandary Peak. My dress was flown, easy to hike in, comfortable, but most importantly felt like me.
Lauren Finch Photography saved the day when our original photographer backed out 1 month before our elopement. We loved Lauren’s energy on our wedding day, and we couldn’t have asked for more beautiful photos that really captured our love for each other.
