Real Brides: Carlie

It all started at a Brad Paisley concert in Sioux Falls. Carlie was visiting her friend, Liz for the weekend, who had scored cheap tickets to the Brad Paisley concert. The two of them sat next to Liz's parents at the concert and sang their lungs out. During the concert, a group of guys who had a slight obsession with talking to parents, invaded their seats. One of these guys being Tadd. Carlie annoyingly asked Liz "Who are these guys and why are they sitting in our seats?" After the concert ended, Liz and Carlie headed downtown to meet up with friends at Wiley's, a bar in Sioux Falls. When they arrived, they noticed those same group of guys who had stolen their seats at the concert was sitting at a table against the wall. While they were talking to them, a girl asked Carlie if she wanted the rest of her tequila pitcher, of course Carlie said yes! Before she could grab the pitcher out of the girl’s hands, Tadd was standing next to her volunteering to share. The two of them shared the pitcher of tequila and danced the night away at PAVE. The next day, Tadd woke-up feeling as good as you possibly could after drinking a pitcher of tequila thinking; "I need to see that girl again." He tried sending Carlie a Snapchat...No reply. He tried again...No reply. Tadd being the sly guy he is, decided to throw a lawn party that day and invite Liz. Carlie tagged along to this lawn party without knowing she was going to Tadd's house. When she got there, she saw Tadd and walked right up to him. The two talked for hours, hung-out with friends and made plans to see each other again. Since that first weekend in South Dakota, the couple has continued to talk for hours and spend time with friends. Tadd moved to Morris in January of 2019 and started a job at Westmor Industries. He lived with a family friend, Ryan Young during this time. When Carlie graduated in May from Mankato and moved back to Morris, she lived with her family. After several months, it became more and more obvious it was time for the couple to find their own place. Tadd and Carlie found a realtor, Deb to help find their first home. After a couple weeks of looking, they found the one! On September 30, 2020 the couple closed on their new home. Carlie left the closing telling Tadd all the things they needed to get done on the house that night...Tadd had different plans. When they arrived at their new home, Deb was there to take pictures of the couple with a SOLD sign. While the couple was posing for pictures, Tadd got down on one knee and proposed. Deb was able to capture the moment. Carlie said YES without any hesitation, followed by "I don't think we will be painting tonight." My mom and I went shopping on a Saturday morning in Alexandria, MN at a well-known bridal shop in the area. I had spent hours on Pinterest and multiple wedding dress designer's websites and knew exactly what I was looking for- an all lace wedding dress with a gorgeous train that wasn't a ball gown but also not super fitted. I tried many dresses on that day, but when I put this one on, I knew it was the one! I had the store set it aside for me to return with my sisters to receive the final stamp of approval. The following weekend we returned with my sisters and grandma and they both approved!
