Real Brides: Marissa

We were introduced through a close mutual friend at a college party. He took me to the roof of the house and we watched the stars together. He was such a romantic, and the rest is history! We both graduated together with our engineering degrees and made a cross-country move together to start our professional lives in California. We both grew up going to the Carolinas for family ski trips, so the mountains there hold a special place in our hearts, which is why we got married in North Carolina. 

After visiting three dress shops and trying on endless dresses, we arrived at the Savvy Bride Boutique in Charlotte, North Carolina, where we were greeted with champagne and a gorgeous dressing room. We looked through the dresses and found this gorgeous one from the trunk show collection. When I tried it on, I loved the lace features on top with the elegant bottom and stunning train. The only thing missing was the sweetheart neckline I was hoping for. I tried on another dress by Moonlight with a lace sweetheart neckline, and held up the bottom of the dress I already loved, and knew that custom combination was the perfect dress for me. We were overjoyed when Moonlight said it would be possible to combine the two into a custom design. When the finished dress came in, I tried it on and fell in love all over again again. My mom and sister were with me and were left speechless, and I couldn’t wait till the big day to show it to the world!
