In January 2020 (we were 17), we were both invited to tag along and support our friends on their first date—little did we know, it would turn into the start of our own story. James and his friends met up with Jess and her friends for bowling and a Nando’s feast, and the night ended with us all playing football on the oval.
From that night on, and throughout Year 12, we couldn’t stop talking. Texts turned into dates, and in November, James took Jess to his school formal. That’s when we knew—this was something special. And so, our love story began.
When it came time to find the dress, I had that same feeling again. I knew it was the one because it shimmered perfectly—nothing else compared. The moment I tried it on, "Mirrorball" by Taylor Swift started playing (and I love Taylor Swift), and it felt like a sign. I was completely obsessed with the long train, and I ended up saying yes to the dress the very first time I tried it on.
